Soft Edge

Look and Listen Multimedia is pleased to bring you some of the latest technological information about soft edge blending.

A complete 6 to 8 metre soft edge installation takes a large budget. What is working well is to have a stage one installation of the 6 to 8 metre screen with the two projectors.  One projector showing the image from the video cameras and the other projector alongside it to show the worship words etc.

Then when the budget is available the soft edge computer equipment and software can be bought and installed.

What is soft edge blending you may be asking and how could it help my church?

Well with soft-edge blending the border between two or three projected images becomes almost invisible. Meaning two or three images can be overlapped without being noticed. In addition, the soft-edge can be computed in software.

In a large congregation at the back you can often not feel that you are part of what is going on at the front due to the distance to the screen. There is a limit to the width of the screen with one projector, for example 4-5 metres.

With the new soft edge technology two or more projectors can have their images merged side by side shining onto a 7-13 metre screen giving one complete image.

This is an ideal solution for a congregation of 400 to 900 people plus. In addition the soft edge equipment is able to have an attractive background image on the 8 metre screen for example with the centre third showing the video what is happening and on either side the worship words etc.

The creative potentials are amazing when four multiple images can be presented on the same very large screen.
