Soft Edge Research
stage 1 of a soft edge installation is shown on our website. This shows the special screen with two projectors, one showing video from the camera and the other showing the words.
Stage 2 is normally the computing switching hardware with software control which allows the blending of the two images with multiple pictures on picture so that for example there could be a video of the choir in the centre with worship words on either side.
Soft edge installation in a large church can add so much to the visual presentation. However it requires a large budget. All our research is about finding economic quality stage solutions. Our current research on Soft Edge as of November 2008 is looking at alternative methods by using computers and software only without special hardware.
Stage 2 may become using a special graphics card and computer enabling SongPro worship words to cover the full width of the 7 metre screen and by using the dazzle we can do words over video.
Then when the budget is available what was stage 2 becomes stage 3 with the full multiple picture on picture effect.
Recording
We have partnered with Behest Software to make available the Sermon Recorder software which is so easy to use on your laptop/pc creating two files for CD's and iPods simultaneously.
