Dazzle Digitizer Research
Words over video are needed for overflow areas, where there are pillars (blind spots) and for baptisms etc. For many years churches have been using computer to video convertors such as the Coriogen Eclipse at £364 but the quality is very poor even when using S-VHS to reduce the text flickering.
Bill Upchurch has been researching and investing in this research for a number of years to find an economical way of presenting crystal clear words over video. The special 1U box to do this has dropped from thousands of pounds to the latest box the EasyFade at £1300, but that is still too expensive.
An alternative system of using a special card in a PC with worship software was developed but there was too much delay. Eventually another software supplier called EasyWorship found a card that worked, but cards cannot be used for laptops and most churches use laptops.
With the advent of USB2 which is very fast, one of our contracting engineers found that the Dazzle DVD Recorder video to USB unit provided the quality of video overlay that we were looking for. This is only £50. It works with both EasyWorship and SongPro and our instructions are on links below.
